How do I get rid of fat? It was a question I kept asking myself. At age 42, I weighed in at 280 lbs. Now, more than ten years later, I weigh less than half that and have no problem keeping the weight off. As a weight loss success story, people keep asking what my "secret" is.  The truth is anyone can do it - you just need to look beyond the usual advice about nutrition and exercise. It is less about willpower for weight loss and more about mindset and self-compassion.

Losing Belly Fat in Women  
Weight loss without surgery is realistic and effective if you know how. My weight loss journey did not use any weight loss surgery, no special plans or anything beyond traditional "lifestyle change." Losing belly fat, or fat anywhere in the body, is less about diet and exercise and more about changing your thinking about food, movement, and your body. 
Weight Loss for Beginners
My special interest is older women and weight loss. I worked hard to figure out weight loss step-by-step over the age of 40, and I want to share my tips and tricks for losing weight so others can know success too!

  • Mindfulness: Become aware of your thought habits surrounding food, exercise, and your body. Rewrite them to serve you rather than hinder you.
  • Self-Compassion: Give yourself the same encouragement, pride, and priority that you would give a loved one who is was in your same situation.
  • Hopefulness: Acknowledge and believe in  your body's ability to rise to the occasion when given the opportunity.
